Venkaiah’s Call To People To Avoid Instant Foods

Hyderabad, Jan.13 (Maxim News): Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today formally inaugurated the three-day International Kite and Sweet Festival on the occasion of Markara Sankranthi Festival, at Parade Grounds here along with Home Minister Mahamood Ali, Council Chairman Swamy Goud, S Venugopala Chary, MLA Srinivas Yadav, Culture Secretary B Venkatesham and other officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah greeted the people and appreciated that the Centre and the state government were conducting the event for third time. He expressed happiness at the festivities for combining of kites, sweets and rangoli competition and cultural programs. The festival is celebrated with different names in various states and it involves families and people together to enjoy the event in traditional fervour. He appreciated the governments for encouraging the festivities. In olden days, Kings used to celebrate this festival of farmers to show their strength.

Venkaiah Naidu exhorted the people to keep healthy by taking in homely food and avoid instant food which will lead to constant disease. Life is not just make a living we need to lead a happy moments. One should be healthy and those who are not so will not eat sweets. Do physical exercise and expect a sweet life. Indian foods have sustained all times and we have to get accustomed to our own culture and life, he said.

Swamy Goud said that Hyderabad has got international name through kite festival. Telugu people celebrate Sankranthi on a grand note he added.(Maxim News)
