Modi, KCR Have Scant Respect For Women: TPCC

Hyderabad, March 8 (Maxim News): TPCC Mahila Morcha leaders on Friday organized International Women’s Day celebrations at a hotel here. Mahila Morcha State president Nerella Sharada presided over the function. Former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and AICC Secretary Madhu Yaski Goud and others took part in the celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress party always gave high status to the women leaders in the party. He said the party was run for a longtime under leadership of a woman. He also said it was the Congress party that gave first woman Prime Minister to the country. He also said his party had allocated adequate number of Assembly seats to woman leaders of the party in the recent elections. Launching a tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Uttam alleged that there was no respect for the women empowerment under the Modi and KCR governments.

The TPCC president said the only cabinet without a woman was the KCR cabinet in the entire country. He also alleged that there was no security to the Minorities under Modi’s rule. He alleged that KCR had struck a secret deal with Modi and added that the unemployment problem had increased under Modi’s rule.

Former Union minister Jaipal Reddy said it was the Congress leader and first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, who brought right to property to the women and the right wing RSS was opposed to the right in ancestral property to the women. Alleging that BJP was a party which believes in Manu ideology, he claimed that the saffron party had changed its ideals after observing the Congress party. He said women should not only progress in politics but also socially. He urged the Mahila Congress leaders to prepare an action plan for women empowerment. He also urged them to fight against atrocities against women.

CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said there was a need to take pledge for providing equal representation to women of the State in governance. He said the Congress would always strive for the women empowerment. He said equal rights to all the women in the country would be possible under Congress rule. He said women would rule the country quite effectively if they were given an opportunity citing the example former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. (Maxim News)
