Hyderabad, May 3 (Maxim News): As the health condition of the fasting State BJP president Dr K. Laxman deteriorating critically, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Gangaram Ahir made the former to call off his indefinite hunger strike.
It may be mentioned here that State BJP chief Laxman has been observing indefinite hunger strike for the past five days demanding action against the officials responsible for the Intermediate marks ‘goof up’. NIMS doctors reportedly told Union Minister Ahir that sugar and BP levels of Laxman is diminishing and he may slip into coma.
Speaking to the media outside on Friday, Ahir demanded that the State government take action against the erring officials in the Intermediate Board, including that of Secretary. Former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya and others offered him lemon juice to Laxman to end his fast.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP National General Secretary Muralidhar Rao said they would continue to hold protests across the State. Laxman was undergoing treatment in the NIMS hospital after he was shifted forcibly from his party office in Nampally while he sat on hunger strike six days ago. Laxman continued his fast even in the hospital. The Union Minister was accompanied by the former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatraya and other State leaders.
Earlier in the day, former Rajya Sabha Member Rapolu Anand Bhaskar called on Dr Laxman at the NIMS to enquire about his health condition. (Maxim News)
