Its Not Proper For Intellectuals To Remain Silent On RTC Strike: JAC

Hyderabad, Oct 17 (Maxim News): As the strike by the RTC employees entered the 13th day today, the JAC convenor Ashwathama Reddy said that it was not proper on the part of intellectuals to remain silent on the issue.

Speaking to the media here today, he alleged that his phone was being tapped. He said that if the Government invites them for talks, they would explain how the merger of RTC with the Government would be possible. He reiterated that they were ready for talks. He said that a constitutional crisis might arise if the issue was not resolved, and added that the earlier Viceroy hotel episode should not be forgotten. Indirectly referring to the Chief Minister KCR, he said that it was not proper behave like ‘I am the King and I am the Minister”. He said that Chief Minister post is not a permanent one and KCR is not greater than NTR.

He said that MLAs of not only other parties, but even those of the TRS party were discussing with him on the strike issue. He said that Ministers Harish Rao, Etela Rajender and Jagdeesh Reddy should give up their silence on the issue. He said they would expose the Government’s ill-intentions in the High Court tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the leaders of left parties started mass fasts at Indira park today, protesting against the Government’s stand on the RTC strike issue. (Maxim News)
