Hyderabad, Dec.5 (Maxim News): Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy today asked the officials concerned to see that 2.25 lakh metric tons of urea be made available as buffer stock.
During a Rabi crops review, the minister sought a report on urea stocks with traders, minor irrigation, projects, water in lakes for pushing farm action. He also asked them to take steps to check onion price rise. The minister said focus will be on increasing onion crop at Nadigadda area with needed subsidy and support farmers and said more stocks of onion will come to city for people.
A team of officials will visit Maharashtra to see onion cultivation and make field visit, he said. He also asked them to take steps to get urea from abroad, coordinate with Railways, he said. (Maxim News)
