State Will Be Happy If Its Farmers Would Feel Happy: Jagan
Amaravati, May 26 (Maxim News): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made it clear that state would be happy if its farmers would feel happy. He made these remarks while addressing a brainstorming session ‘Our Rule-Your advice’ being held by the state government. The meeting has taken up the review on agriculture and allied sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that his goal was to see smiles on the faces of the farmers and farm laborers. Citing that he had personally observed the problems faced by the farmers of the state during his 3648 km of padayatra in the state, he said that they had prepared the party’s election manifesto with an objective to end all the problems faced by the farmers of the state. He said that the farmers would earn profits if their investment on cultivation was reduced and added that they had also thought about how to protect the farmers when they were hit by natural calamities. He said that the agriculture would become profitable only when the farmers earned minimum support price for their produce.
Reddy said that his government was going ahead with the He said that his government was giving Rs.13500 to the farmers under Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme although they promised to give Rs. 12500. He said that they would extend the financial assistance under the scheme for five years instead of earlier promised four years. Speaking further Reddy said that they had given Rs.10,209 to the farmers in the first year of their rule. He alleged that the erstwhile TDP led state government had only given Rs.15000 towards farm loan waiver of scheme instead of its actual promise Rs.87,000 crore. He said that the state government was also implementing free crop loan insurance scheme for the farmers and added that they had already paid. Rs.1270 crore while noting that the farmers would get instant compensation under the insurance scheme as soon as they sustain crop loss.
Alleging that the TDP government ignored zero interest scheme for the farmers, he said that they had introduced the scheme for the farmers and added that they had also dug up bore wells free of cost to the farmers. He said that the farmer would get a benefit of Rs.49,000 every year through their free electricity scheme to the agriculture sector and added that the state government was spending Rs.8800 crore per annum. under the scheme.
