Mumbai Receives Heavy Rainfall, Bombay HC Suspends Hearings For The Day, Rail Services Affected
Mumbai Rains LIVE Updates: Services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Thane/Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Vashi have been suspended.
Heavy rains lashing Mumbai overnight led to flooding in many parts of the city, prompting disruption of road and rail traffic.
Rains across the city picked up late on Tuesday evening. There were intense spells across Mumbai for a few hours overnight, an official said.
Public transport services were hit and normal life affected in the financial capital due to heavy downpour and water logging this morning.
Several streets and low-lying areas were waterlogged due to overnight rains, and the road traffic was also badly hit, a civic official said. Some vehicles broke down in the water, affecting the traffic movement, he added.
A Central Railway spokesperson said suburban services were suspended at 5 am on Wednesday following heavy rains along the tracks.
Mumbai received heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls at isolated places in last 24 hrs. Significant amounts of rainfall (mm) received in Mumbai & neighbourhood till 0830 IST of today:
