Hyderabad: A local court in LB Nagar sentenced a man to life imprisonment in a kidnap, rape case of a minor girl reported in Chaitanyapuri in 2016. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 7,000 on him.
The convict B Nagesh (29), a divorced mason from Bandlaguda in LB Nagar, met the 17-year-old girl, whom he enticed in the guise of love and marriage. He then abducted and took her to Yadadri in November 2015, and even after knowing that she was a minor, married her.
Nagesh then clicked their marriage pictures and left her at her house. Later, he started blackmailing and threatening her to publicise the photos to her relatives.
In January 2016, while the girl was waiting at the Chaitanyapuri bus stop, Nagesh forcibly took her to his house and raped her several times for a week. Based on a complaint, the Chaitanyapuri police booked a case and arrested Nagesh.
