It is unfortunate that the program was delayed and soon after rains subsided the works would be taken up, he clarified. We are responsible to address the problems caused by the rains by taking cooperation from other members in the house, he said.

The Minister appreciated that AIMIM members have helped to clear about 3000 encroachments on nalas in the old city on the stretch of 10 km long Murki Nala. The MIM members have done a commendable job and we are completing the process of the tenders for SNDP, he said.

The Minister ensured that the works of SNDP would be taken up soon after the rainy season ends. We have already taken up the program to address water inundation, clearing nalas, sewage lines he stated. The Minister said that it was unfortunate that the works were not started a bit earlier due to varied reasons.

The minister said that the tenders process delayed the works and it is in the finalization stage. The minister clarified that the officials were instructed for effective coordination to complete the works on a war-footing. The old nalas, and sewage lines in the old city need a thorough look as the population increases manifold, he reasoned. (Maxim News)
