I will protect democracy in AP: TDP chief Naidu

Amaravati, Oct.21 (Maxim News): Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National president and former Chief Minister of the state Nara Chandrababu Naidu today said that he would take steps for protecting democracy in the state. He said that he had undertaken 36 hour long protest program amid special circumstances. He said that he had taken up the protest program condemning the attacks on the party offices across the state.

Addressing the protest program held at the central party office, he said that the NTR Bhavan was a symbol of democratic spirit and added that the attack took place on the symbol of the democratic spirit. He said that the party office was built by 70 lakh party workers and added it was treated as a temple by them. Naidu said that he had decided to hold the protest program at the place of attack. He alleged that the ruling YSRCP activists also attacked on the residence of the party leader Pattabhi.

Speaking further , Naidu said that the attack also took place at the party offices in Vizag , Hindupuram and Kadapa. He alleged that the took place by targeting the party leaders and the party offices. He alleged that the DGP of the state did not respond to his calls on the issue of the attacks. He claimed that the DGP declined to answer his calls. He wondered if the DGP would not respond to his calls to explain about how the attacks took place. He said that the attacks were not only the party offices and the leaders but the they were the attacks on the democracy .

He claimed that the attacks were aimed at ending the existence of the TDP. He said that he had come to the party without caring for his security when the police did not respond to his calls.

Naidu said that the law and order Situation had completely failed in the state. Commenting on the issue of drugs trafficking, he demanded the state government to take steps for the prevention of the drugs trafficking. (Maxim News)
