Revanth Reddy Flight Makes Go Around at Hyderabad

Revanth Reddy | Hyderabad, July 30: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had a close call on Wednesday night after the IndiGo flight carrying him from Delhi to Hyderabad performed a go around before landing safely at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad.

The Chief Minister was travelling on IndiGo flight 6E717 from Delhi to Hyderabad. As the aircraft approached Shamshabad Airport for landing, it reportedly did not receive immediate clearance from Air Traffic Control (ATC).

Consequently, the pilot aborted the landing during the final approach and executed a standard go around, taking the aircraft back into the air.

The flight remained airborne for nearly 20 minutes, circling the airport until it received landing clearance. It eventually landed safely at 8:35 p.m. on wednesday.

According to reports, 229 passengers, including Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, were on board the aircraft. The unexpected manoeuvre caused concern among passengers, while security personnel monitoring the Chief Minister’s movement also remained on alert until the aircraft landed safely.

No injuries or technical issues were reported during the incident. Aviation experts note that a go around is a standard safety procedure followed by pilots when landing conditions are not suitable or when ATC clearance is delayed.

The manoeuvre is carried out to ensure the safety of passengers and crew before making another landing attempt.

The incident came to light after the flight completed its journey safely, with airport operations returning to normal.
