Dharani Portal Became Game Changer in Land Administration: CS

Hyderabad, Oct.29 (Maxim News): Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar today said that Dharani could become a game changer which has brought radical change in the land administration system of the state.

At a meeting held at BRKR Bhavan today to mark the successful completion of one year of the launch of Dharani, Chief Secretary released a booklet on the occasion.

He recalled the Chief Minister’s observation that Dharani was the major initiative after the formation of the state of Telangana.

Expressing satisfaction and happiness over the strides taken by Dharani over the last one year, he said that the web portal has witnessed 5.14 crore hits and over 10 lakh transactions in one year.

Referring to the challenges and hurdles faced in the initial stages of the launch, Chief Secretary felt that inspite of certain vested interests trying hard to pull down the system, the ability to adapt itself to meet the ever increasing requirements of the various stakeholders has been the hallmark of Dharani.

Different transaction modules have also been added to redress various kinds of grievances, he added.

Chief Secretary observed that there has been an exponential growth in the land values in Telangana and thanks to Dharani lands are safe.

No changes are possible without bio metric authentication. Dharani was possible because the government took up the land records updation programme (LRUP) to purify and update the land records.

Chief Secretary complemented the officials and staff for the tremendous work done and noted that in a couple of months, pending grievances will come down and Dharani will prove to be a harbinger of transformation. (Maxim News)
