KCR vows quality health care to poor

Hyderabad, April 26 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has said efforts were being made to strengthen the health care system in the State. The Chief Minister laid foundation stone for the three Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) super-speciality hospitals in the capital on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering at Alwal here, the Chief Minister said the outbreak of Corona virus exposed the deep rooted problems in public health and taught a lesson to strengthen health care system. “Experts say Corona virus was not the first one in the world and there will be a possibility of new variants in future. At this juncture, we can fight the new variants in future only when the health care system is strengthened”, KCR said and directed the Chief Secretary to arrange 50 to 60 ambulance vehicles at all government hospitals for providing free transportation of dead bodies to the native places of the deceased.

On the occasion, KCR alerted the people to be cautious on those mischievous elements who provoke the people in the name of religion and create unrest in the society. Once the TIMS in Alwal, Kothapet and Erragadda are inaugurated, Hyderabad will have hospitals on all four sides as TIMS-Gachibowli is already operational.

Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister T Harish Rao said the day of inaugurating three hospitals will remain in the history of Telangana and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken up this prestigious task keeping in mind the needs of next 50 years generation. The Chief Minister, keeping in mind the financial status of the poor, has decided to provide the better health care to all sections of the people and planned to construct hospitals at different locations all round the city for accessing them easily, Harish Rao said.

Stating that there were only five medical colleges at the time of the State formation, Harish Rao said during the last eight years, under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the number of medical colleges has gone up to 17 and all 33 districts in Telangana State will be having a medical college in next two years.
