Bharat Bandh Call Amid Agneepath Scheme

Hyderabad, June 20 (Maxim News): Bharat bandh call made against Agnipath recruitment scheme in armed forces was evoked a luckwarm response in Telangana as no protest was visible and also not any untoward incident was reported during the bandh.

The traffic flow was normal and all shops, business establishments were remained open. All government offices, banks and educational institutions were functioned as usual. Attendance in government and private offices remained normal.

Even though most of the trains were cancelled by the Railways as precautionary measures, buses belonging to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) were operated without the cancellation of services.

Although the Bharat Bandh was not formally called by any political party, the campaign against Agnipath scheme recruitment and call for Bharat bandh was made on social media by a large number of people.

It’s effect was not visible in Telangana as no protest was staged on the road in any part of the State to enforce the bandh.

However, deployment of security forces were made at key locations and strict vigil was maintained across the State. Section 144 was imposed on the premises of the Central Government offices to prevent any protest by the Army job aspirants.

Meanwhile, Railway police were keeping a tight vigil at all the major railway stations in the wake of June 17 violence at Secunderabad railway station.There was high security at Secunderabad, Nampally, Kachegua stations in Hyderabad, Kazipet, Mancherial and other major stations in Telangana.
