Hyderabad: In a major Hyderabad drug bust, the Mangalhat Police arrested three persons, including the son of a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), during a raid near Puranapul on Wednesday. Police also seized hash oil and ganja, while four other suspects managed to escape.
According to the police, they received credible information that seven persons had assembled in the Puranapul area to purchase narcotic substances. Acting swiftly, a police team conducted a raid and caught three suspects at the scene.

The arrested persons have been identified as Bharat Raj Reddy, the son of an MLC, Abhishek, and Bottu Yunit. The three were taken into custody for questioning, while four other accused fled before they could be apprehended.
During the operation, police seized 24 grams of hash oil sachets and 22 grams of ganja from the accused. The narcotic substances were confiscated as evidence.
The Mangalhat Police registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and launched an investigation to identify the source of the drugs and the network involved.
Special teams have been formed to trace the four absconding suspects. Police said further arrests are expected as the investigation progresses.
