Telangana Floods: CM KCR emphasises long-term solution

Mulugu: The irrigation department’s employees have been ordered by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) to take action to prevent flooding of residences during the monsoon season and to find a long-term solution to the plight of those who live along the Godavari River’s banks.

He approved Rs 8.3 crore for the flood-affected districts to use for quick relief efforts.

“You don’t need to worry about how much the job will cost because the government is willing to pay whatever it takes. All you have to do is stop the communities from flooding permanently. During a review meeting on the damage brought on by the River Godavari floods, he addressed the authorities, “The past governments only focused on short solutions; we need to develop ones that are lasting. After surveying the district’s flood-affected areas on Sunday, the meeting was conducted at the ITDA office in Eturnagaram, Mulugu.

At the meeting, the Chief Minister criticised District Forest Officer (DFO) Pradeep Kumar Shetty for preventing the NPDCL from replacing the broken poles to restore power to the flood-affected communities and the Roads and Building departments from beginning repairs to the damaged bridge.

“Why do you object to the construction projects? For the benefit of the populace, we must labour. This is incorrect. He issued a warning: “You must permit them to begin the work in the wooded regions.

He thanked the officials for preventing human casualties during the Godavari’s historic floods and instructed them to work in three shifts to assist the flood victims. He also gave the irrigation officials instructions to write a book about the floods for future reference. He urged the authorities to act quickly to repair the pipelines at the Mission Bhagiratha in light of the damage they had sustained. A TSRTC bus depot to Mulugu has been approved by the Chief Minister in response to a plea from the representatives of the local populace.

In order to provide urgent relief, Chandrashekar Rao approved payments of 2.50 crores for the Mulugu district, 2.30 crores for the Bhadradri-Kothagudem area, 2 crores for the Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, and 1.50 crores for the Mahabubabad district. The Chief Minister announced that two helicopters will be stationed in Mulugu and Bhadrachalam to conduct rescue operations in case of an emergency. He urged the authorities to restore power to the flood-affected districts and rebuild the roads, culverts, bridges, and causeways on a war-footing basis.

The Chief Minister granted Rs. 50 lakhs to the development of Pakkapur village at the villagers’ request and directed the workers to begin building the R & B road to Shyampalli village.
