Plastic Banners banned in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam, August 26: While addressing the participants of beach cleaning programme here on Friday, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced banning of plastic banners from today throughout the state. He gave call to people to use eco-friendly cloth banners.

The CM said that 20,000 people have participated in 28-km beach cleaning programme and collected 76,000 tonnes of plastic. Earlier, the AP government entered into an agreement with NGO Parley for the Oceans in the presence of the CM for recycling plastic waste collected from oceans and seas. The pact will be valid for six years beginning from 2022.

Jagan Reddy mentioned that the TTD successfully implementing plastic ban in Tirumala. He urged people to use cloth banners in meetings and events even though they are costly. He wished that the AP should become plastic free by 2027. He appreciated management for coming forward to set to Parley Future Institute in AP which will create 20,000 jobs.
