KCR’s decision to increase reservations to STs is a historic one: Satyavathi

Hyderabad, Sept.18 (NSS): Leaders and elected representatives of Scheduled Tribes (ST) lauded Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision of increasing the ST reservation to 10 percent in the State, saying that the decision to increase the reservations of STs was a historic one and it would benefit more tribals in education and job recruitment.

Ramchander Naik and other leaders performed ksheerabhisekam (poured milk) to the portrait of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at the newly inaugurated Banjara and Adivasi Bhavans here on Sunday and burst crackers. They danced with artists for some time and expressed their joy in increasing the reservations to STs.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan here, Minister Satyavathi Rathod said that September 17, 2022, would remain in the history of Telangana as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to increase the reservation up to 10 percent is going to be benefited about 45 lakh tribal community people in the State.

She also urged the Union government to honor the Tribal reservation bill passed in the Telangana Assembly and make an act with the seal of President Droupadi Murmu immediately. (NSS)
