Raja Singh appears before PD Act review panel challenging police action
Hyderabad, Sept.29 (NSS): Suspended BJP MLA Raja Singh today appeared before the Preventive Detection (PD) Act review committee from Cherlapally Central Prison through Video conference and submitted his arguments against invoking PD Act against him by the State police department.
The inquiry was held at Greenland guest house at Begumpet here. Wife of Raja Singh also filed a written counter before the committee challenging the detention under PD Act. The review committee comprising three members received the counters from wife of Raja Singh Usha Bai and reserved the matter for passing orders.
The Mangalhat police, who invoked the PD Act against Raja Singh already submitted a report containing the reasons behind invoking the PD Act along with evidence. Usha Bai also filed a petition before the High Court urging it to quash the PD Act proceedings against her husband. (NSS)
