Setback To Pilot Rohit Reddy: HC Rejected Plea To Stay ED Summons

Hyderabad, Dec 28 (Maxim News): BRS MLA from Tandhur Pilot Rohit Reddy who is the main complainant in the Farmhouse MLAs Purchase Case and also in Bangalore Drug Case got the major setback as the High Court of Telangana has rejected his plea to stay the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons.

A bench of Justice K. Laxman refused to grant interim orders in the case. The case was adjourned to January 5 for further hearing. Senior Advocate and YSRCP MP Niranjan Reddy presented on behalf of Pilot Rohit Reddy. Rohit Reddy told the bench that he was offered Rs. 100 crores to change the party. He made it clear that no money was given. Pilot Rohit Reddy’s lawyer argued that the case does not come under the purview of the ED as there was no financial transaction.

The ED appealed to the Court that the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) is against the Money Laundering Act. Pilot Rohit Reddy alleged that the ED was harassing him asking for his personal details.

On the other hand, the ED told the court that MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy had been given notices to attend the hearing on Tuesday but he was absent. As a result, the ED counsel told the bench that they have once again sent notices to appear for the hearing on December 30.

The lawyer appearing for Rohit Reddy told the Judge that his client had attended the ED inquiry twice. He said that he has submitted all the details asked by ED in the summons. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court directed the ED to file a counter in the next hearing which was adjourned to January 5. (maxim News)
