Bandh Continues Against New Master Plan Of Kamareddy

Kamareddy/Hyderabad, Jan 6 (Maxim News): The bandh has been observed as part of the farmers’ agitation against the Kamareddy Master Plan. All the political parties except the ruling BRS headed by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao and his friendly parties have expressed their support for the bandh.

Local farmers, BJP leaders, and activists are shutting down business establishments in Kamareddy town. A holiday has also been declared for educational institutions in support of the bandh. On the other hand, Kamareddy Constituency BJP in-Charge Katipalli Venkataramana Reddy was arrested by the police this morning. After that, he was taken from the house to the police station.

Rajya Sabha Member Dr. K.Laxman said that farmers’ agitation in Kamareddy is the beginning of the downfall of Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao. Minister KTR is saying that some farmer has died, if a farmer dies, will KTR speak mockingly and sarcastically? Farmers look down on him? he asked. They demanded that a gram sabha should be held and a decision should be taken on the master plan instead of the Doddi road. KCR, who won votes in the name of farmer loan waiver, now accused the farmers of paying usury.

Shabbir Ali’s Support For Farmers

Senior Congress leader Mohd Shabbir Ali extended support to Kamareddy farmers. He assured that the master plan will not stand if it affects farmers. Shabbir Ali said that it is not appropriate for the District Collector to insult those who are agitating. He demanded a clear assurance to the farmers that the master plan will be revised.

BJP leaders organized a bike rally in Kamareddy town. The business and commercial communities are being asked to voluntarily shut down the shops. The BJP leaders are making it clear that they will not stop the movement until the farmers’ lands are clarified. On the other hand, the police arrested the BJP leaders who took out the bike rally.
