Big Shock To KCR Govt. Status Quo On Kamareddy Master Plan: Adjourned To Jan 11

Hyderabad, Jan 9 (Maxim News) Telangana High Court has given a big shock to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s government and ordered the government not to finalize the Kamareddy Master Plan. It has also clarified that the status quo shall continue till further orders of the Court.

Farmers who are losing their lands due to the master plan approached the High Court against the government’s decision. The judge who took up the hearing on their petition heard the arguments on behalf of the farmers. Senior Advocate Srujan Kumar Reddy presented arguments on behalf of the victims. Requested not to finalize the master plan.

The hearing on the petition filed by the farmers opposing the Kamareddy Master Plan was postponed. The advocate General asked for time to counter and the Judge agreed. The case was adjourned for further hearing on Wednesday. After hearing the arguments on behalf of the farmers in the morning, the Court directed the Advocate General to attend the hearing for the government’s explanation. The Advocate General, who appeared before the bench, sought time to file the counter and the Judge agreed.

It may be recalled that the farmers of Rameshwar Palli, a village bordering Kamareddy, approached the High Court against the master plan. Farmers of Rameshwar Palli village, the second ward under Kamareddy Municipality, filed a writ petition in the Court. Farmers have challenged in the High Court the declaration of land as a recreational zone without prior information and without consulting them.

The farmers who filed a case say that the draft master plan is likely to cause trouble to the farmers and the showing of hundreds of acres of government land in Rameshwar Palli revenue village as an urban development area raises many suspicions. He asked the government to withdraw this idea and not to encroach on farmers’ lands. (Maxim News)
