A General Meeting Of GHMC Postponed To Tomorrow

February 19:* A general meeting of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Mayor of Hyderabad Metropolitan Corporation. The meeting was attended by legislators, members of legislative council, co-option members, corporators and officials of GHMC.

The mayor announced that the meeting which was scheduled to be held from noon after the lunch break was postponed to tomorrow as officials and public representatives had to attend due to an urgent meeting with the Chief Minister. He said that the meeting will continue in full from 10:30 am on February 20.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said as soon as the meeting started in the morning… Hyderabad Metropolitan Authority has received many awards and ranks given by the central government. It is stated that Hyderabad has stood at the ninth position as a clean city. He said that if all the STPs are completed, they will stand at the first place in the country. It has been revealed that the city has been greenened with greenery and all measures are being taken to make it a signal free city. He said that the SNDP programs were undertaken without any problems during the rainy season. Like the previous government, this government has asked the mayor’s government to contribute to the development of the city. The mayor congratulated the new government.

In the Kochan hour that followed, Malkajigiri corporator Shravan asked to tell the details of how many employees were outsourced and deputed in GHMC, Admin Additional Commissioner Saroja answered and finally Commissioner Ronald Rose gave the answer. Employees who violate the rules are being fired. The members brought to the attention of the assembly that the street lights are not lit in many areas of the city, in some places they are lit for 24 hours and they go off as soon as the lights are switched on. The Commissioner said that the fitting of new street lights will be done during the festival of Ramzan and Mahashivratri in all the divisions without any inconvenience to the public. Similarly, many corporators, MLAs and MLCs have asked the mayor to inquire and take action on the illegal hoardings, saying that the corporation is not getting the revenue due to the advertisement policy hoardings and advertisements. Said. The commissioner was directed to appoint an inquiry officer regarding regular advertisement and submit the inquiry report.

Several corporators have demanded that several officers working on deputation in the GHMC be sent back as they are acting irresponsibly. Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi suggested to the commissioner that there should be no officers who go in illegal ways and the officers who do not perform their duties responsibly should be surrendered.

Deputy Mayor Srilatha Shobhan Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose, MLCs MS Prabhakar, Surabhi Vanidevi, Balmuri Venkat, Mohammad Miraj Baig, Charminar MLA Mir Zulfekar Ali, Nampally MLA Mohammad Majeed Hussain, corporators, zonal commissioners and senior officers of respective departments participated in this meeting.
