A Woman From Hyderabad Writes To Jai Shankar To Save Her Sister Trapped In Muscat

Hyderabad, Jan 5 (Maxim News): A woman named Farida Begum from Hyderabad got stuck in Muscat, Oman. Her younger sister Fahmida Begum, who came to know about the matter, wrote to External Affairs Minister Jai Shankar asking him to bring her sister Farida back to India.

It is said that many people migrate from Hyderabad to Arab countries for employment. There they have to work hard to support their families. They spending their time constantly confused between tortures, attacks, rapes, thefts, kidnappings and extortions, they live in dire Conditions.

Farida Begum, who lives in Golconda, Jamali Kunta, Hyderabad. Her family’s financial condition is not good. While trying to find a job, she met an agent. An agent approached her with a job offer of 1400 dirhams per month with food and accommodation. The agent promised her that if she does not like the work she can come to India, believing his words, Farida Begum went to Dubai in November 2023.

After working as a maid for a month, Farida Begum fell ill.  Decided to return to India. This matter was told to the agent.  He did not agree to her coming back to India. Apart from this, he also refused to give the passport. On learning about the matter, her younger sister, Fahmida Begum wrote a letter to the Union Minister, seeking to protect her sister. She was moved to tears to bring her sister to India. (Maxim News)
