ACB Arrests Woman Tehsildar—Rs.93 Lakh Cash Found In Her House

Hyderabad, July 11 (Maxim News): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a woman Tehsildar and recovered huge cash, gold and other property in her house during the raid.

The ACB conducted searches in the house of V Lavanya, Tahsildar of Keshampet in Ranga Reddy district and recovered Rs 93.5 lakh cash, 420 grams of gold jewelry from her house in Hyathnagar, a suburb of Hyderabad.

A farmer named M Bhaskar had approached the Anti-Corruption wing complaining against the VRO of Dattayapally village, Antaiah on Wednesday, for demanding Rs 8 lakh bribe on behalf of the Tahsildar for updating his land record online.

Acting on the complaint, the ACB caught the VRO red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh from the complainant, and on the basis of information given by the VRO, raided the house of the lady Tehsildar. Lavaanya was taken to ACB office in Nampally for interrogation. (Maxim News)
