According to the available information, ACB sleuths nabbed Sub Inspector Ramesh at the police station premises. Officials said he was caught while accepting Rs. 20,000 from a person. The alleged bribe demand was linked to an official favour. The officer reportedly demanded the money for removing the name of a person from a First Information Report. Therefore, the ACB registered a case and laid a trap to catch the official red handed.

Meanwhile, ACB officials acted on a complaint and verified the allegations before proceeding. After confirmation, they organised the operation at Kollur Police Station. During the trap, officials caught the Sub Inspector while he was allegedly receiving the bribe amount. Then, they took him into custody for further action as per procedure. The ACB officials later began questioning him as part of the investigation.
