Hyderabad, June 9: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday conducted simultaneous searches at properties linked to Roads and Buildings (R&B) Engineer in Chief J Mohan Naik in connection with alleged disproportionate assets.
The searches began early in the morning and were continuing at the time of reporting.
According to sources, ACB teams carried out raids at around 11 locations, including Mohan Naik’s residence in Madhapur. The action was reportedly initiated following information related to alleged assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Officials are examining financial transactions, property records, and other documents linked to the officer and his associates.
Sources said Mohan Naik had previously faced allegations of collecting commissions from contractors involved in road and infrastructure projects. He has also been accused of favoring certain contractors in the award of works and violating tender norms. However, these allegations are under investigation.
The ACB is reportedly assessing both movable and immovable assets as part of the verification process.
Given the scale of the properties under scrutiny, officials expect the exercise to continue for several hours. Further details are likely to emerge after the searches are completed.
The ACB has not yet issued an official statement on the value of assets detected during the operation.
