Actor Rajashekhar Hits Road Divider At Appa Jn, Escapes With Simple Injury

Hyderabad, Nov.13 (Maxim News): Popular Telugu actor Rajashekar met with an accident in the wee hours of Wednesday while he was returning home from Ramoji Film City here. In a statement, the actor revealed he did not sustain injuries and escaped unhurt. He said he was the only one in the vehicle when the accident occurred. He got out of the car and borrowed a phone to inform the police.

Rajashekar said, “On Tuesday night, while I was returning home from Ramoji Film City via Outer Ring Road, I met with an accident at the Golkonda Appa Junction. Seeing my vehicle, passersby on the road came to me and brought me out of the vehicle. They recognized me. I borrowed a phone and informed the police and also called up my family members. I started for my house in their car. My family members picked me up in the middle of the journey. (sic)” Rajasekhar’s accident left everyone in shock and sources say he suffered simple injuries and taking treatment at his residence.

Following a number of phone calls to the actor’s residence about the accident involving Rajashekhar, his wife Jeevita, also an actor, told mediapersons that Rajashekhar left Ramoji Film City at 1.30 am to return home. She said one of the tyres of the Mercedes Benz which he was driving got burst resulting in the car hitting the road divider and overturned near Appa junction. Meanwhile, some people coming in a car in the opposite direction saw the accident and rushed to the spot and recognized the actor. They broke open the windowpane and brought him out of the car. They also informed the police and us and were bringing him home. “We immediately left for the accident spot and picked him on the way. Later, I informed the police and gave all the details. The police verified his articles and spoke to him. Later, a doctor came to our house and examined him. The doctor said Rajashekhar suffered a simple injury and left after prescribing some medicines”, she added.

Rajasekhar urged the media not to make it an issue. “It is a minor accident and I am safe,” he said. The police are collecting CCTV footage and other evidence from the area, to assess the reason for the accident. The police are not sure if he was under the influence of alcohol. They have sought legal opinion and a case may be filed soon. It may be mentioned here that Rajasekhar had met with an accident in 2017 as well and denied driving under the influence of alcohol at that time. (Maxim News)
