Adilabad And Warangal Airports Vital For Telangana’s Growth: Revanth Reddy

ew Delhi/Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said that the proposed Warangal and Adilabad airports are crucial for the state’s long-term economic development and connectivity.

Speaking to the media after meeting Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu in New Delhi, the Chief Minister said the Centre is extending cooperation for the development of both airport projects.

Revanth Reddy said the proposed Warangal Airport will incorporate elements of Kakatiya architecture and culture in its design, reflecting Telangana’s rich historical heritage.

He added that discussions with the Union Minister focused on expediting the development of both airports.

The Chief Minister said the State Government aims to complete and operationalise the Warangal and Adilabad airports by June 2, 2028.

According to him, continuous consultations are being held with the Central Government to secure the necessary approvals and support for the projects.

Highlighting Telangana’s economic contribution, Revanth Reddy said the state accounts for around 2.5 percent of India’s population while contributing about 5 percent to the country’s GDP.

He stressed that expanding aviation infrastructure through international-standard airports is essential to sustain Telangana’s economic growth, attract investments, boost tourism, and improve regional connectivity.

The Chief Minister said the State and Central governments are working in a spirit of cooperation to advance development projects.

He also stated that he plans to visit New Delhi during Parliament sessions to meet Union Ministers and pursue pending projects related to Telangana’s development.
