Amaravati, July 14: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that the development of Hyderabad and Cyberabad during his tenure contributed significantly to Telangana’s economic growth after the bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking during his tour of three districts in Andhra Pradesh to launch various development projects, Naidu reiterated his long-held claim regarding Hyderabad’s transformation into an IT and economic hub.
Addressing the gathering, Naidu said:
“I developed Hyderabad and Cyberabad. Telangana is the state with the highest per capita income in the country. The reason for that is Cyberabad city. After the bifurcation, the city I developed went to Telangana.”
He added that the economic gains from Hyderabad largely benefited Telangana following the formation of the separate state in 2014.
Naidu said his goal is to replicate similar development in Andhra Pradesh by focusing on infrastructure, investments, technology and employment generation.
“My life’s dream is to develop Andhra Pradesh on par with Telangana,” he said while highlighting his government’s development agenda.
Chandrababu Naidu has frequently maintained that his administration played a key role in transforming Hyderabad into a major information technology and business hub during his tenure as the Chief Minister of the undivided Andhra Pradesh.
His remarks have often sparked political debate, with leaders from Telangana asserting that Hyderabad’s growth was the result of contributions made by successive governments and multiple stakeholders over the years.
