AIMIM Wins Hyderabad Local Body MLC Election

AIMIM | Hyderabad, April 25: In the Hyderabad Local Authorities Constituency MLC elections, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) candidate Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi emerged victorious.

He got 63 votes. BJP candidate Gautam Rao got 25 votes, With a margin of 38 votes he won. Only BJP and AIMIM contested in this election.

The election for the Hyderabad local body MLC seat was held after 22 years. This election became a topic of discussion after the BJP unexpectedly fielded a candidate.

The election was held on the 23rd of this month. There were a total of 112 voters here. While the highest number of votes went to AIMIM, the BJP was in the second place.

Majlis got 49 votes and other parties supported it. Out of the total voters, 81 were corporators and 31 were ex-officio members. Among the ex-officio members, 9 were MPs, 15 were MLAs and seven were MLCs.

While MIM and Bharatiya Janata Party had 9 ex-officio votes each, Congress had seven and BJP
had six.
