Cochin, June 13: An Air Arabia flight operating from Sharjah to Kozhikode was diverted to Cochin International Airport early on Friday after a technical issue was detected, airport authorities said.
The flight, G9 454, was diverted due to a problem in the aircraft’s engine reverse thrust system. As a precaution, airport authorities declared an emergency before the aircraft landed safely at 3.38 am.
Officials lifted the emergency at 3.45 am after completing mandatory safety checks.
Air Arabia Flight Diverted After Technical Issue
Airport authorities said around 170 passengers were onboard the aircraft, including nine infants and crew members. All passengers and crew remained safe.
Officials confirmed that the diversion did not affect normal airport operations.
After technical teams rectified the issue, the aircraft resumed its journey and departed for Kozhikode at 7.15 am.
Airport officials stated that all standard operating procedures were followed during the emergency response and aircraft handling process.
