Also, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has allowed temporary relaxation in flight duty norms. This applies to Air India’s long haul flights to Europe, the United States and Canada. The airline has been taking longer routes due to airspace restrictions linked to the Iran conflict, which has affected operations.

Meanwhile, IndiGo has also adjusted its operations during this period. The airline announced 252 weekly flights to and from West Asia between March 16 and March 28. This includes 126 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia, 98 to the United Arab Emirates and 28 to Oman.

However, IndiGo said operations to several destinations will remain suspended until March 28. These include Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain, Dammam, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah. The airline described these changes as part of temporary network adjustments.

Overall, Air India extra flights reflect efforts to manage increased demand and maintain connectivity amid changing global travel conditions.
