The relief operation is being conducted using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Air India noted that it has been closely coordinating with local Mongolian authorities and the Indian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar to ensure the comfort and safety of the passengers and crew. Arrangements for hotel accommodation, meals, and other essential assistance have been made for those staying overnight in the Mongolian capital.

A spokesperson for the Tata Group-owned airline added that all safety protocols were followed when the crew identified the potential problem during the flight. “AI174m operating from San Francisco to Delhi via Kolkata, made a precautionary landing at Ulaanbaatar after the flight crew suspected a technical issue en route,” the airline said.
