Asaduddin Owaisi Urges Rescue of Hyderabadis Enslaved in Myanmar

Hyderabad, Jan. 22 (Maxim News): Asaduddin Owaisi received a distress message about 16 Indian nationals enslaved near the Myanmar-Thailand border. Three hail from Hyderabad. They face 18-20 hour workdays, beatings, and no passports or phones.

Owaisi tweeted External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for urgent intervention. The victims include Mir Sajjad Ali from Osman Nagar. Two others come from Maula Ali and Banjara Hills.

Job promises lured them to Thailand. Criminals then trafficked them across the border. Owaisi highlighted that they have been even denied medical care.

India has rescued hundreds from similar Myanmar scam centers in 2025. Operations freed over 1,000 nationals last year alone.
