Hyderabad, April 20 (Maxim News): The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, has launched the second edition of its week-long Atma Nirbharata Karmayogi Leadership Programme at the Bella Vista Campus.
The programme began on April 20 and will continue till April 24, 2026. It has brought together senior officials from defence, public sector units, and strategic industries from across the country.
Lt Gen K. Surendranath (Retd.) welcomed participants at the opening session. Later, former Air Chief Marshal V.R. Chaudhari delivered the inaugural address. ASCI Director General Dr N. Ramesh Kumar was also present.
The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s Karmayogi Bharat framework and the broader Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision. Therefore, it focuses on leadership growth, strategic thinking, and technology awareness.
Officials from major organisations are attending the programme. These include BEML Limited, Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited, Electronics Corporation of India Limited, and several DRDO labs.
Representatives from Bharat Dynamics Limited, L&T, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Garden Reach Shipbuilders, Premier Explosives, Sigma Advanced Systems, and Ananth Technologies are also participating.
During the week, experts will speak on national security, maritime strategy, defence production, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, quantum technologies, and biosecurity risks.
Maj Gen N.D. Prasad (Retd.) addressed participants on lessons from modern conflicts. Lt Gen S. Ravi Shankar (Retd.) spoke on leadership mindset changes.
Former Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane shared views on self-reliance and national security. Lt Gen P.G.S. Pannu discussed space technologies and future challenges.
In addition, Lt Gen A.V. Subramanian spoke on critical emerging technologies. Commodore A. Madhava Rao discussed missile and aerial technology trends.
Dr G. Satheesh Reddy is expected to address the participants later this week on building a future ready defence ecosystem through the Triple Helix model.
The valedictory session will feature Alok Joshi, former IPS officer and Chairman of the National Security Advisory Board, as chief guest.
ASCI officials said the programme aims to help participants convert strategic ideas into practical outcomes for India’s defence and industrial growth. (Maxim News)
