Hyderabad, Sept 8 (Maxim News): The state government has filed a petition against the orders issued by the Telangana High Court on the incident that took place outside the Assembly. The government has filed a petition seeking modification of yesterday’s orders. AG Sudarshan Reddy argued on behalf of the government. The court questioned who had ordered the police not to stop the MLAs from entering the Assembly. The High Court has ordered the DGP to take action against the police who had behaved inappropriately by stopping the opposition MLAs. AG Sudarshan Reddy told the court that the MLAs were sitting in front of the Assembly.
The AG said that they tried to enter the assembly wearing placards and T-shirts with anti-government slogans. He revealed that the police stopped the MLAs as part of maintaining law and order. The AG said that the police stopped them because they violated the rules of the legislators. He said that prohibitory orders were also violated. He said that they also abused the women constables on duty. He said that some MLAs pushed the police officers on duty and made inappropriate comments. The High Court questioned the AG that the Assembly Speaker has the authority to take action if the rules are violated. The AG said that the Speaker is responsible for ensuring that the assembly runs smoothly. The AG revealed that the Chief Marshals and the police stopped the MLAs on the orders of the Speaker. The AG said that the BRS MLAs acted to create an atmosphere of fear among the people by wearing black T-shirts.
The AG asked the High Court to revise the orders given to take action against the police. He said that action should also be taken against the police who misbehaved. The High Court questioned why they behaved inappropriately towards the women MLAs. The High Court questioned why they pushed a senior woman MLA with their hand on her neck. The AG told the court that they had not behaved like that with anyone. The AG told the court that they would examine it after Hyderabad CP Sajjanar filed a counter. Were the provisions of the code of conduct communicated to the MLAs before the incident? The High Court questioned.
The BRS lawyer said that the police do not have the authority to prevent them from entering the assembly. The BRS lawyer said that there were no orders issued by the Speaker to the Chief Marshals. The BRS lawyer explained to the court that the Speaker will take action if the MLAs violate any rules.. but not the police. The BRS lawyer said that the state government has filed a counter-affidavit in the FIR registered by the police yesterday.
The BRS lawyer said that if they were considered to be disturbing the peace, they should have taken the MLAs to the Speaker. Instead, the BRS lawyer questioned why the BRS MLAs were arrested and taken to Telangana Bhavan. The BRS lawyer said that there was no need to make any changes in yesterday’s court orders. The High Court postponed the verdict after the arguments from both sides were concluded.(Maxim News)
