Hyderabad, July 28: An auto driver who sustained severe head injuries after losing control of his vehicle while trying to avoid a dog died during treatment in Hyderabad. The incident occurred under the limits of the Adibatla Police Station.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Banavath Amar Singh (47), a resident of RGK Brahmanpally Phase 3 in Ragannaguda, Turkayamjal. He worked as an auto driver for a living.
Police said Amar Singh left his home in his auto at around 9 am on July 23. At about 10 am, while travelling from Turkayamjal towards RGK Brahmanpally, a stray dog suddenly crossed the road near Brahmanpally Crossroad.
In an attempt to avoid hitting the dog, Amar Singh reportedly swerved the auto to the left. He lost control of the vehicle and fell onto the road, suffering serious head injuries.
Local residents immediately alerted his family members, who rushed him to AVS Hospital in Ragannaguda for first aid. Doctors later shifted him to Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar for advanced treatment.
Despite continuous medical care, Amar Singh succumbed to his injuries at 9.05 pm on July 26. Doctors confirmed that he died due to brain death.
Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s son, Banavath Nithin Kumar, the Adibatla police registered a case and have initiated an investigation into the incident.
