Hyderabad, Feb.23 (Maxim News): Finance Minister T Harish Rao today directed the officials concerned to make need-based expenditure and avoid wastage of funds.
Harish Rao, along with Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod, held a meeting on Tribal welfare budget and funds. On the occasion, the Finance Minister asserted that every rupee should be spent for a purpose and welfare of people. He asked the officials to see that Sub Plan funds are spent properly. Stating that the government gave top priority for tribals’ welfare, he said the officials should play a key role in tribal welfare and development. “Ensure that the Central funds come in time and get matching grants for development works”, he said.
The Finance Minister asked the officials to prepare proposals for tribal welfare and submit utilization certificates to the Centre to get funds. “Avoid negligence and make persistent efforts to get funds from the Centre. We will try to give adequate funds for students and hostels, and tribal welfare”, the minister said.
Satyavathi Rathod appealed to the Finance Minister to give priority for Tribal Welfare department. She also sought more funds and speedy release towards welfare and development of tribal and students. She also appealed to the Finance Minister to make available funds in green channel related to Kalyana Lakshmi, school children for and milk bills.
