Hyderabad, May 14: Sudden adverse weather conditions disrupted flight operations at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday, forcing authorities to divert two incoming flights to other cities.
Officials said dense cloud cover and poor visibility around the Hyderabad airport affected landing operations for a brief period.
The unexpected weather change created difficult conditions for pilots approaching the airport, prompting precautionary diversion measures.
Indigo And Emirates Flights Diverted
An IndiGo flight arriving from Pune was diverted to Vijayawada International Airport after visibility levels dropped near Shamshabad.
Similarly, an Emirates international flight travelling from Dubai to Hyderabad was diverted to Kempegowda International Airport.
Airport officials closely monitored the weather situation and coordinated with airline operators to ensure passenger safety.
Flights Later Land Safely In Hyderabad
After weather conditions improved and visibility returned to normal, both flights resumed their journey to Hyderabad.
Officials confirmed that the aircraft later landed safely at the Shamshabad airport without any further issues.
Passengers and airport staff expressed relief after normal flight operations resumed.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department had already forecast thunderstorms, gusty winds and sudden weather changes across parts of Telangana over the next two days.
Authorities advisedpassengers to check flight schedules before travelling as weather related disruptions may continue during thunderstorm activity.
