- Bandi Sanjay links Panchayat elections to BJP support and central funds
- Minister says villages under Karimnagar MP seat will receive the reward
Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay made a major announcement during the ongoing preparations for the Gram Panchayat elections. He said he will offer Rs 10 lakh if candidates supported by the BJP are unanimously elected in the Panchayat polls. He stated that this offer applies to villages that fall under the Karimnagar MP seat.
He made these remarks soon after the election schedule was released. He said the earlier government failed to keep its promise. According to him, “The BRS government has broken its promise to give Rs. 5 lakhs to unanimous Panchayats.” He also criticised the present government. He said, “The Congress government does not have a single penny of funds.”
Bandi Sanjay stressed that central financial support is key for the upcoming local body elections. He said, “The central government is the one who provides the funds.” He urged voters to consider this before making their choice. He said, “These elections are for central funds. People should think and make a decision.”
His comments come at a time when political activity has intensified in rural areas after the announcement of the Panchayat election schedule. The minister’s statement signals the BJP’s strategy to encourage unanimous elections in villages by offering financial incentives. Meanwhile, his criticism of both the previous BRS government and the present Congress government adds sharper political tone to the ongoing debate on development funds and governance in Telangana.
