Hyderabad: Bandi Sanjay said the Centre remains committed to farmer welfare while addressing a gathering in Medak district on Sunday. The Union Minister stated that the country and the state can progress only when farmers remain strong and supported.

Bandi Sanjay made the remarks after inaugurating a food processing lab and a farmers’ hostel at the Tuniki Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Kaudipalli mandal of Medak district. The event brought together farmers and officials connected to agriculture and rural development.

During his address, the Union Minister said the welfare of farmers is central to national progress. He emphasised that the condition of the state improves only when farmers remain prosperous and secure. Therefore, he reiterated that the central government continues to focus on programmes that support farmers and strengthen the agricultural sector.

He also referred to the financial support allocated to agriculture in the Union Budget. According to Bandi Sanjay, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated Rs. 1,50,000 crores for the agriculture sector. The allocation reflects the government’s focus on improving agricultural productivity and supporting farmers across the country.

Meanwhile, the Union Minister highlighted the importance of organic farming. He said organic cultivation can help build a healthier society and a stronger nation. According to him, farming practices that protect soil and food quality are essential for long term development.

He therefore urged farmers to continue focusing on organic farming practices. The Minister said a healthy nation can be achieved only through farming methods that support natural and sustainable agriculture.

During his speech, Bandi Sanjay also spoke about the large number of farmers across the country. He mentioned that India has around 60 crore farmers, while the state alone has about 60 lakh farmers. According to him, the agricultural community plays a key role in the country’s economy and social stability.

The Union Minister also used a traditional saying to explain the importance of farmers’ welfare. He remarked that agriculture cannot improve when the bull cries, and the state cannot improve when the farmer cries. His comment highlighted the close link between agricultural prosperity and overall development.

The inauguration of the food processing lab and the farmers’ hostel at the Tuniki Krishi Vigyan Kendra is expected to support farmers in the region. Such facilities can help farmers access better knowledge, training and resources related to agriculture and food processing.
