The investigation and intelligence wing of Bengal’s police force, CID (Criminal Investigation Department) is soon going to come out with an app, ‘Suraksha Sathi’ to enable people to send information anonymously to the police, which can be of immense help.
It is no escaping the fact that the police force in Bengal has done a lot in the last few years to form a closer bond with the people, from launching apps for establishing a police-public interface (‘Bondhu’ app by Kolkata Police) to running self-defence programmes for women (‘Suraksha’) to conducting public awareness programmes all through the year.
