Big Shock To Naveen Yadav As Father Srisailam Binded-Over

  • Congress candidate Naveen Yadav faces setback during Jubilee Hills by-election
  • Police bind over Srisailam Yadav and other rowdy sheeters to ensure peace

Congress candidate Naveen Yadav suffered a major setback ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election after his father, Chinna Srisailam Yadav, a known rowdy sheeter, was made a bind-over at the police station. The police took this preventive step during the ongoing election process, bringing a new twist to the political atmosphere in the constituency.

Sources said that along with Chinna Srisailam Yadav, nearly 100 other rowdy sheeters in the Jubilee Hills area were also bound over by the police to maintain order. Among all stations in the area, Borabanda police station recorded the highest number of bind-overs, tallying 74 in total. Officials said these measures were necessary to ensure that no illegal or provocative activities took place during the election period.

In legal terms, a bind-over refers to a “guarantee of good conduct.” It is a preventive action where individuals suspected of being capable of disturbing public order or engaging in criminal behavior are brought before a magistrate — typically the local Tahsildar or Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO). These individuals sign a written promise on bond paper, pledging to avoid illegal acts and to maintain peace for a specified period, usually six months to a year.

If any person commits a crime after being bound over, police can proceed with further legal action against them. This procedure falls under Sections 107, 108, 109, and 110 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). The move has gained attention in political and legal circles as it directly involves the father of a Congress candidate during a politically sensitive by-election.

The incident has therefore added a new dimension to the Jubilee Hills by-election, with law enforcement closely monitoring the area to ensure peaceful conduct and fair voting conditions.
