Big Twist In Delhi Liquor Policy: MLC Kavitha Likely To Be Questioned Again
Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 26 (Maxim News): A big twist has taken place in Delhi’s liquor policy. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has submitted the 166 page CAG report to the Assembly. With this, it is clear that Kavitha is likely to be questioned again, while tremors have started in Telangana politics once again.
Moreover, the Delhi government has suffered a loss of Rs. 2,000 crores due to the new liquor policy brought in 2021-22. Rekha Gupta’s revelation is causing a sensation.
To this end, CM Rekha Gupta tabled the CAG report in the Assembly on Tuesday as part of the Delhi Assembly session. The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has clarified that the Delhi government has suffered a loss of Rs. 2002.68 crore due to the liquor scam. The CAG has raised 20 issues regarding the irregularities committed during the AAP government.
Among them, the losses due to the Liquor Policy – 2021 are being discussed in the Assembly. However, this was opposed by the AAP MLAs. 21 AAP MLAs were suspended by Speaker Vijendra Gupta for 2 days after they protested in the House.
The government suffered a lot due to the 2021 liquor policy. Tenders were not invited again in place of surrendered retail licenses. This caused a loss of Rs. 890.15 crore to the government. Another loss of Rs. 941.53 crore was caused by the exemption of zonal licenses.
Security deposits of Rs. 27 crore were not properly collected. Another loss of Rs. 144 crore was caused by the Covid lockdown. The CAG report clarified that a total loss of Rs. 2002.68 crore was incurred by the government. (Maxim News)
