Delhi/Hyderabad, Sept 26 (Maxim News): BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari criticised the Congress on Saturday over Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s remarks about the “Gandhi Parivar” and “Sangh Parivar” at an event in Kerala’s Nilambur.
Reddy made the remarks on Friday while receiving the Aryadan Muhammed-2026 Best Public Servant Award. He described the political contest over India’s future as a fight between the Gandhi Parivar and the Sangh Parivar.
Reddy also expressed support for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister and said the Gandhi family represented sacrifice. He alleged that the Sangh Parivar was dividing the country on religious, caste, regional and linguistic lines.
BJP Accuses Congress of Focusing on Gandhi Family
Responding to the remarks, Bhandari shared a video of Reddy’s speech on X and accused the Congress of focusing on bringing the Gandhi family back to power.
Bhandari said Reddy’s remarks showed that the Congress was prioritising the Gandhi family over issues such as the Election Commission, the Constitution and democracy. These were BJP’s political allegations, rather than independently established facts.
In his post, Bhandari also referred to the Emergency, the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks while criticising the Congress’s historical record.
He further raised issues relating to India’s economic position, poverty and its efforts to secure a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.
Bhandari concluded his post by contrasting what he described as the BJP’s “Nation First” approach with what he called the Congress’s “Family First” approach.
The remarks and the BJP’s response reflect the continuing political disagreement between the two parties over the role of the Gandhi family and the broader issue of dynastic politics in Indian politics. The Congress and BJP have presented contrasting interpretations of Reddy’s comments.
