BJP MLA Raja Singh gets bail
Hyderabad, August 23: In an unexpected turn of events, Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh, who was detained and brought before the court for his divisive remarks about Prophet Mohammed, has been granted bail by the Nampally Court.
At one point, it was reported that the court had denied the request and had ordered the MLA to be held without bail for 14 days. There was another version that Raja Singh will be transferred to either Cherlapalli Jail or Chanchal Guda.
However, in a dramatic change of events in court, the BJP MLA’s personal lawyer has brought some claims to the attention of the Court. The defence lawyer has contended that the procedure required by section 41a of the CRPC, which was not followed, must be advocated before an arrest can be made. The defence lawyer added that when making an arrest, the police did not adhere to the rules established by the Supreme Court. The government’s lawyer and the defendants’ lawyer debated this matter for about 45 minutes. The court has reached a decision after considering all of these. It issued a release order and revoked the BJP MLA’s remand report.
