BJP MP | Hyderabad, June 29 (Maxim News): BJP OBC Morcha national president and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. K. Laxman on Monday criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his recent remarks at the Nalgonda public meeting.
He alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil the promises it made before the Assembly elections and was now trying to divert public attention.
Dr. Laxman said people voted for Congress after becoming dissatisfied with the previous BRS government. However, he claimed the ruling party had failed to implement its key election assurances after assuming office.
He alleged that Congress had promised two lakh government jobs, unemployment allowance, monthly financial assistance for women, Rs 4,000 pensions, one tola of gold for marriages, and scooters for girl students. However, he claimed the government had not fully implemented these promises.
BJP MP Dr Lakshman challenges Congress over poll promises
Dr. Laxman challenged the Congress government to convene a special Assembly session to discuss its election promises. He said the BJP was ready for an open debate on the issue at any time.
Furthermore, he alleged that the state government was resorting to diversionary politics to cover up its failures. He urged the Congress leadership to focus on implementing the guarantees promised to the people of Telangana.
The BJP leader also praised the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the Centre had delivered significant development over the past 12 years.
According to Dr. Laxman, the Modi government ensured that welfare schemes reached poor families across the country without discrimination based on caste or religion. He added that this was the reason people continued to support the BJP in successive elections.
He also urged the Congress government to stop what he described as “mud-slinging politics” and concentrate on delivering the welfare commitments made to the people of Telangana.
