Bomb Threat Emails Trigger Alert At Courts In Telugu States
Hyderabad, Feb. 18: Bomb threat emails triggered a major security alert at courts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
Authorities received emails claiming that 12 RDX bombs had been planted in select court premises. The sender warned that the explosives would detonate at 12.05 pm.
In Telangana, the threat targeted the CBI Court in Nampally and the Karimnagar Court. In Andhra Pradesh, the Rajahmundry Central Nazir District Court received a similar email.
Bomb Threat Emails Prompt Court Evacuations
Immediately after receiving the bomb threat emails, police evacuated judges, lawyers and the public from the court premises. Subsequently, bomb squads conducted thorough searches.
The email also demanded that authorities vacate the courts before Islamic prayers. Therefore, officials treated the threat as serious and tightened security.
However, investigators are examining whether the bomb threat emails were a hoax. They are also probing if someone sent the emails to divert attention from any ongoing case.

Meanwhile, cyber crime officials have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the emails. They are working to identify the sender and determine the motive behind the threat.
Security remains on high alert at the affected court complexes.
