Hyderabad, April 27 (Maxim News) : Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday made sharp remarks on the future of the BRS party, saying there is no need for any new political party in Telangana.
He made the comments while interacting with media representatives after the oath taking ceremony of newly elected MLCs in the Legislative Council.
Revanth Reddy said the present political situation in the state does not require the formation of another party.
The Chief Minister said decorating a dead body would serve no purpose and compared the present condition of BRS to that situation.
He claimed the party no longer has a future and its political survival has become uncertain.
Revanth Reddy said people removed BRS from power after becoming frustrated with what he described as arrogance during its ten year rule.
He alleged that several BRS leaders misused power and acted with pride while in office.
According to the Chief Minister, voters responded strongly in the last Assembly elections and chose change.
He further said the immediate question in Telangana politics is not whether a new party is needed, but whether BRS itself will continue to remain relevant.
The remarks were seen as an indirect response to the recent announcement of a new political party by Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Political observers believe the latest comments may intensify the war of words between Congress and BRS in the coming days.
The ruling Congress has repeatedly said that BRS has weakened after losing power, while BRS leaders continue to attack the state government on governance issues.
Telangana politics has turned increasingly competitive after recent developments involving new alignments and internal challenges in opposition ranks.
Revanth Reddy’s latest remarks are expected to trigger strong reactions from BRS leaders and supporters. (Maxim News)
